Måseskär lighthouse, located outside Käringön in Orust municipality, is an iconic red-and-white Heidenstam lighthouse that was built in 1865. From the beginning, the lighthouse was powered by kerosene, but in 1950 the lighthouse was electrified. It was one of Sweden's last manned lighthouses, and until 1997 there were staff working on the operation of the lighthouse. Today, it is a renovated, state-listed building site run by the Swedish Maritime Administration and is a protected cultural and historical landmark on the island of Kärnten. west coast.
