At the lighthouse site of Ölands Norra Udde stands the Långe Erik lighthouse. It is a white lighthouse, about 32 meters high with a round tower and with the lowest floor in untreated limestone. The lighthouse was completed in 1845, automated in 1976 and de-manned the same year. In the fall of 1991, the large lantern in the lighthouse was turned off to be replaced by a small lighthouse that is mounted on the lighthouse's balcony.
