The Vinga lighthouse is located on the island with the same name in Gothenburg's outer archepelago. The lighthouse was built in 1890 and is a square tower with rough and finely hewn stone. The tower is about 29 meters high. The lighthouse that stands right next to it was built in 1857.
In 1974, the lighthouse was automated and demanned.
Vinga is a classic lighthouse and pilot station where the poet Evert Taube partly grew up, as his father was a lighthouse keeper there.
