Sizes up to and including 150 cm have loops; larger sizes have plastic clips.
The flag of Åland is blue with a red cross featuring a yellow border separating the blue and red areas.
The first Åland flag, consisting of blue, yellow, and blue horizontal bands, was used starting in 1922 but was banned by Finnish authorities in 1935. Following a new Autonomy Act in 1952, Åland gained the right to adopt its own flag. After discussions and several proposals, the Legislative Assembly adopted the current cross flag in 1953.
