The flag of Uzbekistan consists of three equal horizontal bands, blue, white, and green, separated by thin red stripes, with a crescent moon and twelve stars located in the hoist-side section of the upper blue band.
Uzbekistan's current flag was adopted in 1991, following the country's independence.
The color blue is associated with the sky and water and holds historical significance for the country. The crescent moon and the twelve stars are also key symbols linked to the nation's historical traditions and independence.
