The flag of South Sudan features three broad horizontal bands, black, red, and green, separated by two narrow white stripes, along with a blue triangle on the hoist side containing a yellow star in the center.
When the country gained independence in 2011, the flag became a symbol of the new republic.
The color black represents the people, red stands for the blood shed in the struggle, and green signifies the land and nature.
The blue triangle symbolizes water, while the yellow star represents the country's unity and resilience.
