The flag of Jamaica features a yellow saltire (diagonal cross) that divides the flag into four triangles: two green and two black.
The flag is unique in that it is one of the few national flags that does not feature the colors blue, white, or red. The flag was adopted in 1962. The yellow cross is derived from the coat of arms of the capital, Kingston. The green sections symbolize agriculture, while the two black sections symbolize the past.
